Tank
An astonishingly well made remote control tank, with a full working gearbox for steering, no cheating with two motors.
Crane
An enourmous telescopic mobile crane model. Seriously this was huge.
Digger
A very agile digger, the operator did an impressive demo driving it up to a step and lifting itself up with the bucket. Lovely set of home-made tracks on this one.
Balance Bridge
This was a perfectly balanced bridge model. The weighted carriage (foreground) counter-balances the bridge as it lifts or lowers.
Rolling Bridge
Another ingenious bridge design brilliantly modelled, this one rolls up to a hexagon on the left bank of the “canal”.
Tall Crane
I told you it was big!!
Recursion
Liberator (Blakes' 7) and Enterprise (Star Trek) in the background. In the foreground, James May's Meccano bridge, somewhat perversely, modelled in Meccano.
Tractor
A thing of beauty.
Tower
Part of the local scenery at Kew Bridge Steam Museum, the venue for the Meccano exhibit, this is the Standpipe Tower, a kind of giant upside-down u-bend.
Train
London's last running steam locomotive apparently.
