TIE Advanced X1 Revel easykit

Whilst I was in France in the summer I happened to walk past a model shop which had some Star Wars model kits in the window which caught my eye. In the end I chose the TIE Advanced X1 kit as the most interesting one to build. The kit was one of the Revel "easykit" range which means that theoretically you need no glue or paint to build the model, but I ingored this theory and went ahead and painted and glued bits as I felt they would benefit.

STAP and Battle Droid

About two years ago now I was given the AMT/ERTL "Stap and Battle Droid" Kit. It's like an Airfix kit by a different manufacturer, so all little tubes of polycement and pots of model enamel. Anyway, after two years most of which time the model has spent sitting around with a base spray coat of paint but no detailing I have finally finished it. So here it is for you to see.

Ancient Font

After watching a large part of Stargate Season 8 whilst at home over Easter, I was inspired to make a font based on the ancient writings I had seen. After a minimal amount of research on the subject of the ancient language, I have produced this font, which you are free to download. It agrees with the font displayed in the Wikipedia article on the subject, however the geometry is a little more precise I believe. I would love to tell you all how to make your own fonts, however I used a rather old copy of Corel Draw!

Stargate Wallpapers

A few questions you might ask:

How did you draw the Stargate?
I used an open source CAD (Computer Aided Design) package called QCAD, sadly since I drew this the software availability has changed, there is still a community edition available from the RibbonSoft website, however this is a source distribution suited to confident Linux users.

Are the glyphs all correct?
